No surprises what you get with Evans Cycles. The shop is new to Plymouth but the brand has been around for years. Its a good high-street cycle shop aimed at entry and mid-level riders. The staff are very helpful with loads of (low to mid level) stock held. Lots of bikes under £1000 and Shimano parts, clothing and tools. There is a large workshop with several mechanic’s stations.
The shop is also very conveniently located centrally (by Charles Cross (the bombed out church) but not in the centre, with free customer parking below Staples, making it a doddle to pop-in. You can also click and collect via their online store or also drop-off unwanted items ordered online.
My last experience was not successful. I took my bike in to have the bottom back replaced. It is the expensive Campag Power Torque. They could not remove the cranks (and broke their tool trying) and returned the bike still un-mended. I am sure I will go back in future.
